Frequently asked questions

  • Wi-Fi uses radio waves to send and receive signals from your wireless router. These radio waves connect your devices to the internet. Wi-Fi transmits at frequencies of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. Generally, the faster the frequency, the faster the data transmission. If you don't know what that means, that's fine, because our Wi-Fi solution takes care of that for you. Unlike some routers that have two separate Wi-Fi networks (one for the 2.4 GHz band and another for the 5 GHz band) or older routers with just a 2.4 GHz band, our devices work to select the band that will deliver the best performance for your device.

  • 2.4 Ghz: This signal is preferred for longer range connections, but the bandwidth/speed provided is limited and varying.
  • 5.0 Ghz: This signal is preferred for faster connections and in optimal cases may provide speeds similar to wired connections, but the range of this signal is shorter than the 2.4 Ghz signal.

  • Wired internet is generally faster, allowing you to get the highest speeds available, but it’s not always possible or practical to plug in many devices, and some devices may not be capable of going as fast as your internet can (even if you could plug them in).
  • your upload and download speeds are always based on maximum wired speeds. Internet speeds are not guaranteed and may vary based on factors such as hardware and software

  • A mesh network uses multiple access points that communicate with each other to give your whole home seamless Wi-Fi coverage. A mesh network provides you with further reach than you’d get with a single traditional router.

  • Types of construction materials in your home may affect WIFI signals, it is better to arrange your router and extenders to cover the weak spots in your network.
  • High power home devices (such as microwaves) affect WIFI signals, if possible please keep your router away from such devices to avoid distortion.
  • Multiple WIFI signals in the same place will cause distortion, try switching your radio WIFI channels from your routers settings to keep your WIFI signal from being jammed by other signals (if customer lives in an apartment building and his neighbors have WIFI)
  • If you are using your internet to play online games, generally it’s better to use wired ethernet connection rather than WIFI, because it’s more stable.
