Amman, October 2, 2023: Zain Jordan has extended its support for the 17th consecutive year to the National Remote Water Quality Monitoring Project, led by the Royal Scientific Society. The support involves providing data transmission lines and "Real Static IP" service for 13 field monitoring stations distributed across key surface water sources in the Kingdom, such as the Yarmouk River, the Jordan River, the King Abdullah Canal, the Zarqa River, the inlet and outlet of the King Talal Dam, and the outlet of the Kafrein Dam.

Zain's support enables the seamless remote monitoring of water quality by providing real-time data through automatic stations equipped with devices. These stations continuously draw water samples from water sources, conduct physical and chemical analyses on these samples, and send the results promptly through the communication network to the database. The results are then analyzed from the database to support decision-making processes by relevant authorities, including ministries and related institutions.

This support from Zain is part of its sustainability management programs and initiatives. The company consistently launches these initiatives to contribute to environmental preservation, support efforts to address water challenges in the Kingdom, and align with the implementation of sustainable development goals. Notably, these goals include Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The National Real-Time Remote Water Quality Monitoring Project was established by the Royal Scientific Society in 2003 for the Supreme Council for Science and Technology. The project provides services to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Water Authority. Zain has been offering its services and support to this project since 2006 and continues to do so to this day.
