Amman, October 29, 2023: As part of its ongoing initiatives to aid the people in the Gaza Strip amid the recent aggression, Zain Jordan, in alignment with the Jordanian solidarity towards the residents facing continuous attacks and a prolonged blockade, has contributed a cash donation of 100,000 Jordanian Dinars. Additionally, Zain's subscribers generously donated 9,024 Dinars, and the company's employees contributed 17,700 Dinars. The funds aim to provide urgent humanitarian aid, purchase medicines and medical supplies for Palestinian hospitals, and supply essential food items in collaboration with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization.
Zain's subscribers participated in the donation campaign launched by the company at the onset of the recent aggression on Gaza. The campaign allowed Zain's customers to contribute easily through a designated code (#710*), demonstrating the company's commitment to facilitating donations. Zain had announced the campaign on its official social media platforms, extending the opportunity for its subscribers to support the resilient people of Gaza. Additionally, Zain pledged to match its subscribers' donations tenfold, emphasizing its dedication to the cause.
Zain Jordan has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the Palestinian cause, offering various initiatives to support the Palestinian people enduring over 75 years of occupation. Zain provided 1,000 free minutes for calls to Palestine for all its individual and corporate postpaid and prepaid subscribers, enabling them to stay connected with their loved ones in Palestine. Furthermore, through its mobile wallet service, Zain Cash, the company collaborated with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, allowing users to donate directly through the Zain Cash application.
In a symbolic gesture, Zain changed the network name to "GAZA" on its subscribers' phones, displaying solidarity and support. The company also organized a solidarity stand in front of its main building on King Abdullah II Street, including a minute of silence to honor the martyrs.
