Amman, 4 December 2025: In continuation of its pioneering role and dedicated efforts to promote the principles of inclusion, diversity, and equity, Zain Jordan has launched its Comprehensive Accessibility Guide for its employees and customers with disabilities. The guide aims to ensure the provision of a barrier-free environment, making Zain one of the first companies in the Kingdom to take a proactive step toward empowering and integrating persons with disabilities, and ensuring that all its buildings and facilities comply with the Building Requirements Code for Persons with Disabilities.
The launch of the guide coincides with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, observed annually on December 3rd, reaffirming Zain’s unwavering commitment to providing an inclusive, accessible, and user-friendly work environment. The guide strengthens the culture of inclusion, diversity, and equity across all services and initiatives offered by the company. It also serves as a practical application of the principles of equality and equal opportunities that Zain believes in, reflecting its leading role in supporting and empowering persons with disabilities by preparing the necessary infrastructure and integrating them into its various operations, programs, and projects.
Zain Jordan emphasized that this step reinforces its leadership within the Jordanian private sector by offering a comprehensive practical framework that enables departments and suppliers to achieve full, 100% accessibility across all company facilities. The guide was developed in collaboration with specialized experts in universal accessibility to serve as a certified reference for designing, implementing, and managing facilities according to the highest international standards, ensuring that all Zain facilities, services, and initiatives are designed to meet the needs of all segments of society—reflecting the company’s commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable community.
Zain Jordan integrates persons with disabilities into all its programs, initiatives, and services through a comprehensive set of innovative solutions. In 2015, the company launched the “Basma Line,” dedicated to the Deaf community, offering video calls directly linked to the Command and Control Center at the Public Security Directorate via the emergency number 114. The company has also supported the emergency call application for Deaf users on smartphones and has been sponsoring its Paralympic champions for several years.
For its employees, the company provides sign language training to ensure effective communication with customers and colleagues with disabilities. Zain also offers instant sign language interpretation services in all its retail shops across the Kingdom. Recently, and in partnership with Royal Jordanian Airlines, Zain introduced real-time interpretation services in Royal Jordanian offices to facilitate the travel experience for passengers with hearing disabilities. Additionally, the company launched its digital library on YouTube to teach the basics of Jordanian Sign Language.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region, Zain has made mobile service subscription contracts available in sign language for its customers with hearing and visual impairments. The company also provides all its employees with disabilities with assistive technologies to support independent and efficient access to work and services. In 2018, Zain received the Essl Foundation Award at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna in recognition of its development of an innovative ecosystem supporting the Deaf community in the local society.
