 Graduation of the first class of deaf students from Zain Mobile Maintenance Center




Zain held a graduation ceremony for students participating in the first training course on the maintenance of cellular devices for Deaf students at the Wadi Al-Seer Training College - UNRWA, in which 14 students participated.

The ceremony was attended by the CEO of Zain Jordan Fahd AAlJasem and UNRWA representatives from UNRWA Operations Director Roger Davis and Head of the Education Program; Dr Orouba Al Mousa, Dean of the Wadi Al Seer Training College - UNRWA Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Hija.

This course, launched by Zain in cooperation with UNRWA last July, is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, as the first free training course on mobile maintenance for the Deaf class. The students received intensive training for 4 months, one month as practical training and the rest to study. The theoretical curriculum, and Zain has equipped halls and special equipment to suit the requirements of deaf students, so that they can benefit and training easily and effectively on the maintenance of cellular devices, while trained by experts trained under the guidance of sign language specialists - who have experience in the maintenance of devices etc. The Ah-, and the company will start a new cycle in the coming period, so will be the next courses are inclusive of deaf courses and speakers combine both, male and female.

The students were given certificates to practice the mobile maintenance profession. Zain provided each student with the "Al Basma" line for deaf people, which includes free minutes to make video calls, which helps them to communicate, in addition to the possibility to call free of this line on the number Emergency Directorate 114 for Deaf Department and Zain 1414 to communicate with the Deaf Customer Services Center which operates daily from 6 am to 10 pm.

This course is part of Zain's many programs in support and empowerment of the Deaf community to help them integrate into society and provide them with equal opportunities to enter the labor market. This course is an achievement in the management of sustainability (social responsibility) of the company to support all segments of society with real and sustainable initiatives Zain was the first telecom company in the world to support its website www.jo.zain.com with a 3D 3D interpreter, in collaboration with the Mind Rockets Inc, Zain launched for the first time Zain has supported the free Smartphone application, launched by the Turgoman team, specially developed for Deaf people from Jordan, to translate the Jordanian sign language, and to those who wish to learn Jordanian Sign Language .

"This step represents a qualitative shift in vocational training and the building of strategic partnerships between UNRWA, the Wadi Sir College and the private sector represented by Zain, which was launched by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, Zain is considered to be a key partner in training and development to serve the Palestinian refugees in Jordan. We also aspire to achieve more constructive cooperation with all sectors to serve our Palestinian refugees. "

It is worth mentioning that Zain has started its training centers on the maintenance of mobile devices since 2008, and the number of centers today to 5 centers, spread in the governorates of Zarqa, Amman, Tafila, Irbid and Karak, through which Zain provides free training courses on the maintenance of cellular devices, Experts and specialists in this field, and are granted students after the completion of the course, certificates to practice this profession qualify them to enter the labor market and improve their living situation.
