The company gives away free subscription for two months
Amman, July 1, 2008: Zain, part of the Zain Group, the leading mobile operator in the Middle East and Africa, has announced that it has taken the burden of sales tax of the domestic ADSL service away from all subscribers starting last Sunday. Zain is the first communications company to have cancelled sales tax from all internet subscribers in Jordan to bear it on their behalf.
Through Khalleeha Aleina campaign, the company announced it will provide existing and new subscribers of Zain with a free two-month subscription in an initiative to enhance the utilization of internet service in Jordan.
Zain’s CEO, Dr Ahmad Al-Shatti, said that the Khalleeha Aleina campaign will enable all customers from different sectors of society to use the internet at cheap prices in accordance with His Majesty King Abdullah’s directives in transcending to a knowledge-based economy.
Al-Shatti further added that the company is launching many initiatives to expand internet prevalence in the Kingdom. This will contribute to achieving the most prominent goals of the national strategy for the communications sector, which aims to increase the prevalence of those services to 50% by the year 2011, since today’s rates remain much less than anticipated at a mere 20%.
Al-Shatti pointed out that the company is presently providing wireless internet services to a number of universities and professional institutions in the Kingdom as a way to support increasing people’s utilization of internet. The company offers a vast base of communication and data services, the fact which corroborates its competitive standing and pioneer locale in the market.
On his side, Zain internet services General Manger Abdallah Faza stated that the Khalleeha Aleina campaign presents the opportunity for a larger number of customers to use internet at home easily and flexibly.
The campaign, which concludes by the end of this month, targets existing and new domestic ADSL subscribers. The offer grants subscribers very competitive and reduced prices compared to offers presently available on the market, in addition to a free 24-hour download period every Friday, and daily from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
